Okay, so you're all done with your blockbuster screenplay concerning dangerous vampires in Boston and now it's time to start out pitching that script to managers as well as agents in Hollywood. (All of that have more in common with a vampire than you might realize.)

But you need those pages, right? They are really important to establishing character and setting and...blah blah blah.
I will bet you five bucks you don't need it. Don't have faith in me...give the script out, without the initially five pages. In case nobody notices, you don't need it. (It's one of the biggest faults writers make when learning how to write a screenplay.)
The the reality is almost all writers do a lot of "throat clearing" in those starting pages. Get right to the point. (Bear in mind, readers would like to know what's taking place. So permit them to do a little sleuthing.)
Tip 3 Focused Drafts
Other than rewriting from fade in to fade out, I prefer to take a pass at the script numerous times-but with a very concentrated objective on each and every rewrite. (It's one among the hardest matters I had to get when learning how to write a screenplay.)
So...maybe I'll conduct a rewrite whereas I focus on nothing but spelling. Another...scene description. Perhaps another will be pushing fights. Whilst another takes care of dialogue.
Then I'll do a rewrite for each major character. Probably I'll try to add a few symbolic images subtly.
After carrying out 10-20 of these-with very clear goals-it will help me stay on track, and make sure I cover everything.
I assure if you follow these 3 steps, you'll get a tight, concentrated, and much better script. (Even when it's about mutant vampires.)
